About the Artist / Work
Criticism
"With his masterful technique and luminous palette, he creates the consummate Post-Modern still life of our disposable consumer culture."
Dr. Debra Miller (Ph.D., Art History)
"Art Review: Everyday objects inspire artist's 'method' at CALC", by Joseph and Barrie Ann George for The Sentinel.
About the Artist
Peter Seidel has worked as a teacher of the visual language at Friends Central School, Wynnewood, Pa from 1992 through 2018. He also taught at Drexel University and Moore College of Art & Design. He holds a B.A. from Dickinson College (Honors in Fine Arts) and an M. Arch. from University of Virginia.
About the Work
"These paintings are explorations of modern subjects; supermarket treasures that are often used but perhaps seldom seen. All of the works arise from my delight in the unexpected and kaleidoscopic shapes of transparent color found in such things when revealed in the wonder of light. I have seen these things."
